Mochamaster
The Mochamaster is one of the most distinctive pieces from the original Habbo Club furniture collection. Its design is anything but subtle: two enormous golden-orange cylinders rise from a bulky coffee station, surrounded by stacked cups, a pressure gauge and small mechanical details. The machine has an almost industrial appearance, looking somewhere between an old-fashioned espresso maker and a piece of elaborate machinery. Bright highlights running along the cylinders give them a polished metallic surface, while the darker brown shading around the base creates an impressive amount of depth for such an early piece of Habbo pixel art. Released in 2002, the Mochamaster became the fifth gift in the original Habbo Club reward sequence. Unlike furniture that existed purely for decoration, the machine was interactive and could dispense drinks for Habbos to carry. This made it useful in cafés, bars, restaurants and other social rooms, where drink dispensers became a familiar part of the Hotel experience. The Mochamaster's unusual appearance has helped it remain instantly recognizable among classic Habbo furniture. Rather than attempting to recreate a realistic modern coffee machine, its designers exaggerated almost every feature — particularly the towering cylinders and warm orange-gold colouring. The result perfectly captures the personality of early Habbo furniture: functional enough that its purpose is obvious, but strange and exaggerated enough that it could only really belong inside the Hotel.
