The Past Comes Back
Habbo remembers where it came from.

2024 · NOSTALGIA
By 2024, Habbo had travelled a very long way from its beginnings in 2000. The modern Hotel was filled with thousands of furniture pieces, elaborate campaigns, crafting systems, Wired games and a completely different technical foundation from the original Shockwave era.
But instead of only looking forward, Habbo began looking back.
The biggest example came in June 2024 with the launch of Habbo Hotel: Origins — a separate version of Habbo based on the 2005-era client. Rather than recreating the old Hotel from scratch with modern technology, Origins was designed around the experience and visual style of classic Habbo, with a strong emphasis on community and nostalgia.
For veteran players, this was something completely different from the usual anniversary campaign.
It wasn't just old furniture returning to the catalogue.
It was an attempt to bring back the old Hotel itself.
The original-style interface, smaller furniture catalogue, classic rooms and simpler experience gave players a chance to experience a version of Habbo that had effectively disappeared nearly two decades earlier.
And that makes 2024 an especially interesting year for The Pixel Room.
Because suddenly, preserving old Habbo wasn't only something fans were doing through screenshots, archives and furniture databases.
Habbo itself was looking back.
🏛️ Habbo History Month
And then came something almost tailor-made for your website.
In June and July 2024, Habbo ran Habbo History Month.
The campaign specifically celebrated the history of Habbo from 2000 onwards, with furniture and rares inspired by different periods of the Hotel. It introduced 14 new rares, a new Limited Edition item, two LTDs, crackables and additions to older furniture lines.
That is basically the official Hotel doing what The Pixel Room is doing:
looking at furniture as history.
The campaign revisited old hotel identities and classic themes, turning Habbo's own past into new furniture and collectibles.
For a project dedicated to documenting the evolution of furniture, it's one of the most important modern campaigns to preserve.
🪑 The catalogue keeps evolving
Outside of the nostalgia, 2024 was still very much a modern Habbo year.
The Hotel ran eleven major campaigns, including:
🌱 Dragonfly Farmstead
🧸 Maude's Mini World
🎨 Graffiti on the Street
📜 Habbo History Month
🎪 Cirque du Pixels
🇲🇽 Explore Mexico
👻 Neon Nightmare
🏰 Dream Kingdom
🎄 Cosy Christmas
The year continued the modern Habbo tradition of turning furniture collections into complete themed environments rather than simply releasing individual objects.
And there were some important building developments too.
Wired Variables arrived, expanding what builders could do with interactive rooms, while the Wired Creator Tool gave experienced builders another way to construct more complicated Wired systems.
The height limit for rooms was also increased from 40 to 80, giving builders considerably more vertical space to work with.
So while Habbo was looking backwards with Origins, the main Hotel was still pushing its building tools forward.
🔄 The furniture economy changes again
2024 also saw some notable changes to the collectible economy.
Habbo introduced the Collectibles Guild, expanded NFT trading inside the Hotel and worked toward making the Collectibles ecosystem more accessible. At the same time, the Immutable marketplace was eventually discontinued, showing that the Web3 experiment was continuing to evolve rather than simply following the original 2021–2022 vision.
This is an interesting contrast with the classic era.
Back in 2005, players traded furniture manually.
Later, Habbo introduced the Marketplace.
Then came blockchain-based ownership.
And by 2024, Habbo was still experimenting with how digital furniture could be collected, traded and owned.
The basic idea hadn't changed:
people still cared about pixels.
Only the systems around them had changed.
🕰️ A strange moment in Habbo history
That makes 2024 a fascinating point in the timeline.
Habbo was simultaneously:
Looking forward → Wired improvements, modern campaigns, Collectibles and new building tools.
Looking backward → Habbo History Month and Habbo Origins.
It's almost as if Habbo had finally reached a point where its own history had become part of the product.
The furniture from 2001, 2005, 2010 and 2015 wasn't simply old content anymore.
It was heritage.
And for the first time, an entire new generation of players could deliberately step into a version of Habbo that looked and felt like the Hotel their predecessors had experienced almost twenty years earlier.
2024 wasn't about forgetting the past.
It was about discovering that the past still had value.
